Theoneminutesjr. Workshop
During the course of time, CTFB has been able to establish itself as the leader in the promotion of children's participation in media in Bangladesh through promoting theoneminutesJr. programs since 2009. A total of 240 children have actively participated in theoneminutesJr. program since 2009.
TheoneminutesJr. is an international, arts-based initiative that gives 12-20 year-old children and youth, especially those who are underprivileged or marginalized, the opportunity to have their voices heard and to share their ideas, dreams, fascinations, anxieties and viewpoints on the world. It is sixty-second videos made by young children. TheoneminutesJr. encourages children's expression, motivating children to articulate their opinions and concerns about their communities, their environments. It bridges the gap between the media, the arts, culture and children.
TheoneminutesJr. brings together 12-20 year-olds for 5-day workshops where the children and youths are taught basic camera and directing skills, story-telling, teamwork and how to think creatively about issues and representation. Each participant develops his/her own story based on the workshop theme produces a sixty-second video that is screened at the conclusion of the workshop.
Through this program: (a) notable numbers of children have been able to develop their skills and capacity in making video programs; (b) spaces have been created for informal learning, innovation and creativity; (c) a group of children have been developed, who could make their own production from their own point of view.
